Savant Garde — Bad Unkl Sista at 111 Minna

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Bad Unkl Sista was the closing performance — never a runway catwalk or a pouty model, here — at Savant Garde at 111 Minna in San Francisco this past Thursday. Half ballroom dance and half butoh, it certainly had patrons’ attention.

Updated Portfolio

I just completed a big refresh of my Portfolio, so go take a look! All images are from the latter-half of 2006 until now, with the exception of one shot in 2003 that took third place in Minolta’s Photo of the Year competition in 2004.

Kinky Salon’s EAT ME with the Wet Spots at Mission Control, San Francisco

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I was asked to cover some of Kinky Salon‘s monthly extravaganza — this month’s theme was EAT ME (no one made the joke about nightshade being toxic, but they should have). The Wet Spots played a fabulous set (find them on youtube, and they’re not safe for work).

See the photos here – many are risqué, and some NSFW (this should not surprise you, gentle reader).

Bring Your Own Big Wheel, Easter Sunday, San Francisco 2008

Monday, March 24th, 2008

In keeping tradition with that special breed of nonsense that makes San Francisco so very spectacular, I bring you this eve photos of the eighth-annual (caution: obnoxious audio) Bring Your Own Big Wheel (BYOBW) “competition.” Taking place Easter Sunday, the supposed goal is to get to the bottom of the hill in the quickest manner possible atop a garishly rickety Big Wheel — style points are definitely awarded, and some riders piloted “chopper” bikes and others trash cans. Participants wear everything from flip flops to full biker leathers to bunny and gorilla costumes. Injuries are badges of honor and beer in cans standard issue. (I will only admit to mimosas, and I have a clown to blame.)

See them all here at the blight’s Bring Your Own Big Wheel gallery.

Pirates vs. Clowns with Mutaytor and Cirque Berzerk

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

How can you possibly have a party titled “Klowns vs. Pirates” (spelled with a “k” no less) in San Francisco and -not- invite us — not even -tell- us said party was to take place? This is an outrage, I tell you. And thus, the klowns of SF did picket! We hit the streets with our message: “Don’t import clown labor! Don’t outsource clowns! Picket like a scab!” And lo, mayhem unfolded.

For the record, we do <3 our friends and family Cirque Berzerk and Mutaytor; and they love us too, as evidenced by Sue (founder of Cirque Berzerk) providing her dubious “support” for us in the way of the labeling as pictured above. It’s not their fault they’re scabs.
